On Wednesday, Bank of America customers reported difficulties accessing their bank accounts, but the bank has stated that the issue is mostly resolved. Reports of problems spiked around 12:45 pm ET on Downdetector, a site that tracks outages. Many users said they couldn't view their account balances, while some who could access their accounts were alarmed to see zero balances.

In a statement to CNN, Bank of America confirmed that "some clients are experiencing an issue accessing their accounts and balance information today," adding that the problems are being addressed and mostly resolved. The bank apologized for any inconvenience but did not specify the cause of the issue, nor was it clear when all systems would be fully restored.
Several CNN employees with Bank of America accounts experienced trouble logging in, with one user seeing a message stating that the balance for one or more accounts "may be temporarily unavailable." Frustrated customers on Downdetector echoed similar issues, with one person mentioning, "Five accounts show zero balance, over 20K," while others reported being unable to log in or seeing incorrect balances.
The situation remains under review as updates emerge.
