Dubai already has the world’s tallest skyscraper, and now it’s set to add a second tallest building. The Burj Azizi, which began construction in January this year, will stand at 725 metres (2,300 ft), making it the world’s second-tallest building after the Burj Khalifa.
While its height was not revealed at the time of the groundbreaking as it awaited approval from Dubai’s authorities, such as the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), developer Azizi Developments has now confirmed the building’s final height. The Burj Azizi will eclipse almost all of its neighboring iconic buildings, except the Burj Khalifa, which stands at 828 metres (2,600 ft).

The building will have 131 floors and include apartments, a “seven-star” luxury hotel and a seven-storey vertical shopping mall. The Burj Azizi is expected to break a number of records, including the world’s highest hotel lobby, highest nightclub and highest observation deck.

Although still shorter than the Burj Khalifa, the Burj Azizi will be the second tallest building in Dubai and the world when it is completed in 2028. The project involves an investment of more than 6 billion dirhams ($1.6 billion), and sales of apartments are planned to begin in February 2025.
